Students Off And Running Team 2026 Tryouts!

SOAR mantains a 1:1 training support ratio.
This means that for every adult charity runner that commits to training, a student benefits from a SOAR sponsored training slot. 
In a season scenario where there are more students having completed tryouts than training slots available, a waiting list will be created considering the following factors: 
  • Prior Participation - SOAR acknowleges students that have completed the program in prior seasons have gained full benefit.
  • School Site Representation - SOAR strives to maintain diversity in valley wide student particpation.
  • Grade Level - SOAR strives to maintain a measured grade level blend in order to ensure future grass roots promotion.
  • Attitude and Training Challenges (Prior Students Only) - SOAR will consider returning student's prior training commitment and attitude.

 Students having completed 2026 Team Tryouts who are not listed on the 2026 Team Roster
have been placed of SOAR's Alternate List and will be contacted as space becomes available.
The cutoff for adding new team members is November 30, 2025.

Your acceptance of a Los Angeles Marathon XLI
Team 2026 Training slot with Students Off And Running constitutes
 a 24 week, 400 mile training commitment.


 Please consider this carefully before contacting Coach Alicia with your decision to participate.
 
If your name is listed on the 2026 SOAR Team Training roster you must text or call 
​Coach Alicia Stella at 310-849-0773  with your first / last name and official
acceptance by midnight, Saturday 9/27/25 to claim your training slot. 


Failure to reply by day's end 9/27 will result in forfeit of your SOAR sponsored marathon training slot for 2026!
